Esperienze professionali

 

Segretario Generale di GEM (www.globalquakemodel.org), una Fondazione non-profit pubblico-privata incaricata dall’Organizzazione per la Cooperazione e Sviluppo Economico (OCSE) di sviluppare un modello di rischio sismico a scala mondiale. I fondi contribuiti dai paesi ed enti privati che hanno aderito all’iniziativa ammonteranno a € 35.000.000,00 per i primi cinque anni di attività.

 

Responsabile della Sezione Rischio Sismico presso il Centro Europeo per la Formazione e Ricerca in Ingegneria Sismica (EUCENTRE, www.eucentre.it), coordinando diversi progetti di ricerca e consulenza tecnico-scientifica riguardo (i) valutazione del rischio sismico a scala urbana o territoriale e (ii) la valutazione e mitigazione della vulnerabilità delle strutture in cemento armato.

 

Coordinatore operativo (Deputy Coordinator) di LESSLOSS (Risk Mitigation for Earthquakes and Landslides, www.lessloss.org), una vasta rete di ricerca con la partecipazione di 46 partner Europei, incluse università, istituti di ricerca, società do costruzione e produttore di materiali e tecnologie avanzate. Il progetto è finanziato dalla Commissione Europea per un valore di € 6.400.000,00.

 

Coordinatore operativo (Deputy Coordinator) del corso di Master Erasmus Mundus in Ingegneria Sismica e Sismologia (MEEES - Master in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, www.meees.org), l’unico progetto di questo tipo finanziato dalla Commissione Europea in tutto il campo dell’Ingegneria Civile. Il valore complessivo del finanziamento è di € 3.600.000,00 circa.

 

Co-coordinatore di attività di carattere gestionale della Scuola Europea per la Riduzione del Rischio Sismico (ROSE School, www.roseschool.it), come per es. organizzazione del programma didattico, organizzazione di seminari internazionali, gestione del programma “Marie Curie Training Site” sponsorizzato dal CE, gestione sito web, campagne di divulgazione, pianificazione delle pubblicazioni scientifiche interne, interazione con studenti, ecc.

 

Co-fondatore e direttore tecnico di SeismoSoft (Software Solutions for Earthquake Engineering, www.seismosoft.com), società specializzata nello sviluppo di avanzati programmi di calcolo automatico nell’area dell’Ingegneria Sismica e della Sismologia, e coinvolta in attività di consulenza per diverse software house Italiane, per l’aggiornamento dei loro programmi di progettazione strutturale all’Ordinanza 3274.

 

Docente a corsi di laurea e post-laurea (MSc e PhD) nelle seguenti materie: Progetto di Strutture, Valutazione della Vulnerabilità Sismica di Strutture in Cemento Armato, Rinforzo e Adeguamento Sismico di Strutture in Zona Sismica, Analisi Non Lineare di Strutture, Relatore e correlatore di più di 100 tesi di laurea e post-laurea, riguardanti un vasto numero di argomenti nel campo di ricerca dell’Ingegneria Sismica tra cui: progettazione di strutture in zona sismica, simulazione numeriche avanzate in campo non lineare, prove in laboratorio, programmazione agli elementi finiti, ecc.

 

Autore e co-autore di 150 pubblicazioni scientifiche, e relatore ad invito in diverse conferenze nazionali ed internazionali. Curatore, componente del comitato editoriale o revisore per numerose riviste (sottoelencate) e case editrici internazionali (IUSS Press, www.iusspress.it).

 

Organizzatore o docente invitato a corsi di aggiornamento e convegni sulla normativa sismica Italiana tenuti a Pavia, Reggio Emilia, Imperia, Genova, Savona, Bologna, Udine, Napoli, Catania, Roma, Longarone, ecc, in relazione ai temi dell’analisi strutturale e della

valutazione, rinforzo ed adeguamento sismico delle strutture esistenti.
